As I Know She Stood Before The Alter

23 September, 2012

Four o’clock

Feel the time, heavy,
Weighing on my heart, like lead,
A fixture, not removable, screwed, bolted, welded.
It’s happening, feeling it, right now, or has,
Like damocles, dark blunt, over me.

Four o’clock she stood

Lives, already past, that motorway junction, long gone,
Both separate ways, never eye-to-eye, bumper-to-bumper
Still in tow, cable, arm thick, steel, invisible.
Heart entwined, the key, singularly forged,
in a bag, she has, like Mary Poppins, lost,
to the wind, my heart.

Four o’clock, she stood there

So it was,
The bond, sensed, encounter, strike,
Basketball, spinning, cloud high, over lands,
Free, breathe, surge, new heights, beauty, empathy,
On rubber band, return, sucked, to seek,
Strikers shaft, love, vibrating, disturbing,
under piles, stuffed, under things, far away,
Travellers chest, bolted, chained, locked. To Forget.
So it was, so it is, so it will be, thru’ time.

Four o’clock, she stood there before

Soul, carved by ancestors fate, faint,
Yet tough, running, fighting,
The Simcha within, a salmon,
Swimming, against the wild waters of time,
Searching, quiet, secure, calm lake, of family love,
A helping hand, a heart, given, reached not,
Lost, in barbed woods, strudel of life.

Four o’clock, she stood there, before the altar

A seal, a name, a ring, an oath, an image, a life.
The concrete, mixed, to be poured,
The icon, to fix, hold, against oncoming pirates.
Image, static, an artifact, a trophy,
An art work, captured, via logic, debt, dark thoughts.
The spirt within, longing, love,
Lost, anchorless, scarred, scared, pain,
Sweet flowers, steeled door crypt,
Waiting, iconic mausoleum.

Four o’clock, she stood there, before the altar, and said

Bleed - that word, so, simple, five letters,
So far from truth, double hurts,
distraught, wretched, squeezed, glued, blanketed joy, bonded, loss, longing
yearning, pity, sad, love, weakness, powerless.
Wordless, Loss.
A waft, destiny’s breath, decision, taken,
I, A pawn.
