Feel My Heart in the making

All of a sudden I had this three lined harmony with a couple of phrases in my head. It was like a chant.

I’m an old chorister, and I love the sound of singing in cathedrals. The harmony was of the type that would sound well in a large space, so I tried it out in a large hallway and the reverberated sound sounded great.

So I “only” had to write a text to fit in to the chant.

The text is basically a love song, but it could be easily modified to be a verse to the universe or of ones own relationship to God.

A couple of passages are about loving.

For me there are two main powerful types of love: one more on the meta level (the limbic fabric), which I call the pure love, the other “the falling in love” for pairing, for creating the nest.

The first type is interesting because it is a paradox in itself:

If you feel this power for somebody, you want to have everything from that person (or get something back if its father to son), but if you love that person, treasure them, honour that fragility, their own self value, individuality, their wholesomeness, then you cannot want anything at all, because as soon as you want, you are demanding, trying to assert, put under pressure, intruding, blackmailing, destroying the value of trust.

You can only give, and let go.

The passages are about this type of love.

The piece is called “Feel My Heart”. The text is under Poems.
